Well, well, looks like I wasn't the only consumer burnt for the exact same reason. Home Depot may not be the bank, but you choose with whom you will enter into a banking relationship and agree with their practices, which are executed on behalf of HD. Do not try to distance yourself from this practice--you have far more control over the accounts than you are admitting to. In my case, it was for the exact same reason, and when I presented proof,Citibank still did not care. I, too, will shop elsewhere. Apparently you need an excuse to trim accounts--or are you just saving your bank money by reducing the number of accounts that are inactive for long periods. At any rate, the HD credit card is just that--your card, so take responsibility for it and the bank that you selected to manage your credit accounts. BTW GREAT choice-everyone knows that Citibank is a bad business partner, they make money at everyone's expense and now at the expense of your good will. (Don't tell me, however, that you don't know their credit practices because I am a consumer law attorney who works in corporate law.
