Wiggling out of giving military discounts to real Vets

My wife and I moved from Michigan back to Arizona. We live outside of Payson and it is really a shame how uninformed the employees are about Veterans making purchases at this store. We lived outside of Gaylord, Michigan. The Home Depot and Lowe's showed respect for Veterans, ALL THE TIME, not just special days as the Payson store does. I was paying for my purchases and showed my VA card. That was when the cashier skated around the 10% discount. The last time I was in the store, when making the purchase they showed me a card showing WHY they should not honor a VET. No one gets the 10% at this store unless you have been wounded, you retired or are on active duty. Say, that is interesting. A person on active duty is not a Vet, at least not until after they get out of the military. My question to Home Depot is this: WHEN is a VET a VET to you? Home Depot needs to get their act together. Always dodging on one side of the fence or another. There are two or three other hardware stores in town. That is where we will shop in the future. By the way, I am NOT the only VET that has been embarrassed by this store. Sad to say, after speaking to two assistant managers, I found they did not understand why the RULES are such. And I thought Home Depot was an American based company. Check out Home Depot's spotty treatment of VETS. Underclass to say the least.

My son in law is a veteran and they would not give him the 10% veteran discount on a sliding door because it already had a 15% discount deal going on. The door cost between 5 and 6 hundred dollars but it is costing them $1500 total to get it installed including the cost of the door. They charged $100.00 extra for what they call limited access because they are going to have to carry it about 30 feet through the front door and are tacking on extra charges for materials they might need to install the door. They said they would get a refund if they don't need all the materials. How would you know whether they used them or not? It's a shame everything has a scam added in now days. This Home Depot is in northwest Arkansas.
