Hello DisapointedinHD,

Sorry for the trouble. I certainly understand your frustration. As Home Depot is not a banking institution, The Home Depot credit card is actually owned and managed by CitiBank. We do not have access into their systems, however, I have submitted a complaint on your behalf against CitiBank in our internal system that we use when reviewing third party contracts. Feel free to contact me directly with any other concerns you may have.

Well, well, looks like I wasn't the only consumer burnt for the exact same reason. Home Depot may not be the bank, but you choose with whom you will enter into a banking relationship and agree with their practices, which are executed on behalf of HD. Do not try to distance yourself from this practice--you have far more control over the accounts than you are admitting to. In my case, it was for the exact same reason, and when I presented proof,Citibank still did not care. I, too, will shop elsewhere. Apparently you need an excuse to trim accounts--or are you just saving your bank money by reducing the number of accounts that are inactive for long periods. At any rate, the HD credit card is just that--your card, so take responsibility for it and the bank that you selected to manage your credit accounts. BTW GREAT choice-everyone knows that Citibank is a bad business partner, they make money at everyone's expense and now at the expense of your good will. (Don't tell me, however, that you don't know their credit practices because I am a consumer law attorney who works in corporate law.
